Position Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in injection molding processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing injection molding tools and processes to support our manufacturing operations. This role requires a deep understanding of mechanical design principles, material properties, and manufacturing processes, particularly in the context of injection molding.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop injection molds and tooling systems based on project requirements and production standards.
Conduct feasibility studies and analyses to evaluate mold designs and manufacturing processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance to ensure design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles are met.
Optimize injection molding processes to improve cycle times, reduce scrap rates, and enhance product quality.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to injection molding equipment, tooling, and processes.
Perform root cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective actions.
Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in injection molding.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Experience in mechanical design and engineering, with a focus on injection molding.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for design and modeling.
Strong understanding of mold flow analysis and simulation tools.
Knowledge of materials used in injection molding (thermoplastics, thermosets, elastomers, etc.) and their properties.
Experience with designing for high-volume manufacturing processes.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Strong communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
