As a member of the Manufacturing East Engineering team, the Rotating Equipment Engineer carries the primary responsibility for rotating equipment integrity and reliability. Further, this role has secondary responsibilities to provide day-to-day technical support.



Demonstrating a high level of commitment to Responsible Care (safety, environment, and health) activities.
Lead & manage Reliability Projects, establishing and tracking mechanical equipment priorities with key stakeholders (Maintenance, Operations, and Process Engineering)
Lead & participate in the use of NOVA Reliability Systems Standards & Analytical Tools to ensure optimal reliability methods are applied, such as FMEA, RCFA, etc.
Familiar with condition monitoring tools and techniques such as vibration analysis, lube oil analysis, etc.
Review new equipment designs to ensure maintenance and reliability issues are evaluated and addressed
Lead & support focus teams on equipment failures to determine root causes and identify actions to prevent re occurrence
Providing rotating equipment technical input to capital projects.
Responsible to Plant Work Teams, Operations and Maintenance for critical mechanical issues, including equipment specification & changes and troubleshooting, plant trips, & capacity limitations
Leading & supporting cross-discipline unit or site initiatives to further the effective function of unit and site work teams.

The successful candidate will have a BSc in Mechanical Engineering and their Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation or registered as an EIT through the PEO (or equivalent regulatory body). The candidate will also have:

Engineering experience in an industrial plant with direct Rotating Equipment technical expertise would be an asset
Experience in overhauls and refurbishment of turbo machinery, centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, material handling and extrusion equipment would be an asset
Familiarity with applicable industrial (API/ANSI) codes and standards relating to all classes of rotating equipment.
Ability to manage your own workload with minimal supervision, managing multiple projects and tasks in a dynamic work environment.
Demonstrated strong willingness to take initiative and be a self-directed worker.
Ability to deal with ambiguity and frame issues to define scope.
Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present or explain information using a variety of formal presentation tools and techniques.
Experience with SAP would be an asset.
Demonstrated commitment towards safety.
